Carribean Rhapsody by James Carter: CD Review

If you don't like the Foo Fighters, you're really not going to like them by the end of the year. "Wasting Light" is one of their superior releases and should prove itself by staying on the radio and album charts for 2011. Their current tour dismantles every pre-conceived negative thought one might have had about their music. Always notorious for having stellar opening acts, they pulled no punches by adding Motorhead and Scotland's own Biffy Clyro to the bill.

The Top 5 Best Female Rappers Of All Time

Early shows in the summer always feel strange to me, since it's just so bright outside. Last night (or day), I checked out the early show at Mercury Lounge where Other Lives played, with Ravens & Chimes as support. Even though I was going out to a show when the sun still seemed too high for that, Mercury Lounge was dank and dark as if it the moon was out, and the bright side to early shows is that there's plenty of time to catch another show after that if you're feeling so ambitious.

Jewish Art Always Makes the Best Gift

For a good number of people, it is rather difficult to determine the value of art without understanding exactly what it is or stands for. In simple terms, it is important to note that the true net worth of anything can only be comprehended by those who appreciate and acknowledge the in depth role that the item or work depicts. This is to say that a single piece could have different evaluations from different perspectives depending on the circumstances or the person evaluating it.

scott-kardashian-sourthwest-flight-rude.jpg

Ugh. Some people never change.

On Sunday, Scott Disick was booked on a flight from Chicago to New York in order make a party in the Hamptons. Scott decided he had no time to waste on this trip and proceeded to rush past other passengers on his Southwest flight in an effort to get on the plane first. According to a fellow flier, he plowed past a young couple with twins AND an elderly man, who so eloquently asked, "Who is this schmuck?"

When he made his way to the gate, Scott tried to pay off the attendant to get ahead of everyone else, but the attendant turned around and scolded him for his behavior. That's when he turned his attention to another, more "star-struck" attendant, who gave him an emergency exit row all to himself.

Ah! The only way to travel: selfishly!

When pressed about the story, Disick's rep said:

"He never offered any bribes and didn't cut in front of a couple with twins. Yes, a flight lady did save him an exit row because she was a fan. The flight had an emergency landing in Detroit, and Southwest had to find another plane and it took 10 hours to get to New York."

So says you. Others say much differently.

But how interesting is it that rep denies the bribe story, but not the one about Scott blowing past an old dude to get on the plane before him!

So, he's not a cheat. Just rude. Understood.

Musical Instruments The Band and Orchestra

There are many kinds of musical keyboards, from the accordion to player pianos. It is traditionally defined as a set of adjacent levers or keys that can be depressed to create a sound. A properly built keyboard can traditionally represent the twelve notes on the musical scale, with smaller keys for octave intervals.

Last week we got to see a new full length trailer for the upcoming 4th season of True Blood and today we get to check out a newer trailer that features some of the new characters that will be featured on the show. In addition to the vampires, shape-shifters, werewolves and faeries on the show this new season of True Blood will also feature a coven of witches! Apparently, in the world of True Blood, witches can control the dead … which would mean big trouble for the vamps in town. Click below to check out this new trailer.

I mean, of course they had to throw witches into the mix … in the supernatural world of True Blood, they were sorely lacking the witch element. It really looks like this new season of the show is going to try and outdo all the previous seasons … and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

Arnold And Maria Split Over Love Child

Did Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separate over a love-child Arnold had? Arnold himself confirmed to the Los Angeles Times newspaper that he did indeed have an affair with a woman who was a member of the couple′s household staff, and had child with the woman. Arnold and Maria announced just over a week ago that they were separating after their 25-year marriage. Shriver, 55, had issued a statement several days ago saying that she felt that she had made too many sacrifices for his career. But Arnold tells a different story now that he apparently had a 20-year-long affair with the household staffer, resulting in a love-child who is now 10 years old. Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife Maria Shriver in happier times before news of Arnold′s love-child and their marriage separation. Image Credit: Don Feria/WENN.com. Schwarzenegger, 63, explains that he kept it secret so long so the woman could get her 20 years, retire and leave on good terms. That he has been secretly paying support for the now 10-year old love-child. Arnold issued a statement on the matter. ″I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and [...]

Types of Guitars Available For Purchase Online

The song "Mystery Train" has become one of the most iconic classics of the rockabilly genre and in fact of all rock and roll. The song has it all: a great, mood-invoking vibe, wonderful driving slap-bass work by Bill Black, one of the most perfect guitar parts ever recorded courtesy of Scotty Moore, and of course Elvis' flawless, raw, powerful vocal delivery. And the song itself is one of those rare gems that stands strong on its own, separate from the performance. But though Elvis and the boys own this song with their amazing performance of it, Elvis didn't write it. So, where did it come from? Well, that gets to the roots of rockabilly!

Ryan Gosling Surprises His Mom For Mother’s Day

I’m not sure how YOU spent your Mother’s Day this weekend but if you’re a good son like Ryan Gosling, then you flew home to visit your mom … even if she wasn’t home. Ryan made his way to his mom’s home in Toronto, Ontario as a sort of surprise … but when he arrived, [...]

It’s been a few months since we’ve checked in with Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick and their beautiful children so what better time to see how the family is doing than on Mother’s Day weekend! When last we saw photos of the twin girls Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, the little ones were not quite ready to walk on their own … today we get to see new photos of the little darlings lookin’ like little ladies, standing on their own two feet.

I cannot believe how quickly these little babies grow up! It seems like not long ago that we first heard the girls were born and now they’re basically little kids, running around all over NYC. It’s nice to see that James Wilkie is growing up nicely (and chess is not a bad hobby to have). What a beautiful family … aren’t they all just the cutest? It really does look like it was a very Happy Mother’s Day weekend for the entire Parker-Broderick family :D

Jacob Lusk Sent Packing on American Idol

We say goodbye to Jacob Lusk tonight, as he was the latest contestant on American Idol to get voted off the show. It really wasn’t a surprise since many, myself included, have felt that in recent weeks he just has not impressed as much as he did at the beginning of the season. No doubt he will probably secure some sort of gospel/R&B recording contract though, so no worries all you Jacob fans! In addition to finding out just who would be sent home, we saw AI judge Jennifer Lopez perform her hit ‘On The Floor’, (which Mamacita rocked of course) and heard Lady Antebellum’s latest single, ‘Just a Kiss’ — another sweet ballad. So here’s how it went down…We first saw James Durbin asked by Ryan to stand at the far right side of the stage. He had great performances last night with his take on ‘Closer to the Edge’ by 30 Seconds to Mars and the very emotional ‘Without You’, tears and all. Lauren Alaina was next, who also had solid performances with Carrie Underwood’s ‘Flat on the Floor’ and ‘Unchained Melody’. She was sent to the opposite end of the stage, which left me a bit confused [...]

Available exclusively on the deluxe edition of, Fashion Of His Love is one of the first songs GaGa wrote for the new album - and it is, in our opinion, easily one of the best!

It is like a shot of adrenaline to the heart! It is ear porn! It is love and happiness and hope all bottled into one exquisite package!

To us, it's very reminiscent of old school Whitney. Think I Wanna Dance With Somebody 2011.

In other words, it's PERFECTION!

Scott-Heron was most well-known for his '70s song The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, which he released when he was only 18. He then went on to record three more albums, published two novels and a book of poetry.

He was HIV positive and struggled with drug addiction throughout out his life.

The Best Acoustic Guitar Possible Could The Choice To Purchase One Be A Good Move?

In my experience, when people stop learning their instrument, the majority retain, no matter how small, a fondness/casual liking of what they learned. They may on the odd occasion return to their instrument, if only to play for pleasure or 'mess around'. However the reasons they stopped learning (which are vast) generally mean they don't tend to return to their instrument soon after quitting.

Pedal Board Flight Cases

Classical acoustic guitar is the most popular string instrument in the world. If you want to buy it, you will have plenty of choices. However, you should be very careful while choosing this instrument, because it is not so easy. The most important thing is to test the guitar before you pay for it. Firstly, you need to estimate the look of the guitar. Secondly, you should select a guitar of good size, quality and tone.

In February we got our first look at the first teaser trailer for the upcoming prequel film X-Men: First Class. Today we get to check out the longer, full-length theatrical trailer that will begin showing in movie theaters ahead of new films. In this new trailer, we get to see some of the scenes that were featured in the first trailer but we also get to see new scenes featuring the teenage X-Men in action. Check out the trailer below.

OH yeah, I like this trailer MUCH more than the first one. I have a really good feeling about this X-Men prequel. My gut tells me that it will be the best of the bunch. I am really excited about seeing the origins of the X-Men and am looking forward to seeing the way the relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr grows … and then falls apart. I am SO excited for this film … June can’t get here soon enough for me.

Is A $3 Million Super Bowl Ad Irresponsible?

These days everyone accuses the mainstream news outlets of bias. Fox News, as we know, is perceived to be the benchmark for conservative news broadcasting. On the other hand, MSNBC has evolved, particularly within the past few years, as the liberals' direct response to Fox News. On the web, we find the Drudge Report on one side and the Huffington Post on the other. And, of course, we can not forget the real or perceived biases associated with the rest of the "liberal media", such as the New York Times, CNN, and whoever else.

new-amusement-park-will-feature-noah%e2%80%99s-ark-filled-with-dinosaurs

Well, this is just big bowl of stupid.

A company in Kentucky is creating an amusement park called Ark Encounter that features a full-scale “replica” of Noah’s Ark. But that’s just the beginning — a park official has made it clear that there will be dinosaurs on the ark. Next to all of the other animals — like monkeys and stuff.

You know, because dinosaurs existed when all of the other animals did, and not millions of years before.

Yeah.

Here’s a piece of advice to the park administrators — go pick up a science book. Have you guys heard of science? No? Well, let us explain. You see, it’s this thing that has proved over and over again that dinosaurs didn’t exist when Noah supposedly made an ark.

Maybe try reading every once in a while.

Just saying!
